Ceniviva from Australia visiting USA, Canada relatives

Tommaso Ceniviva emigrated from Pianopoli to Australia, son of the late Cesare and Concettina Mascaro visited relatives in Monteal and Hartford Ct.
Above photo is Totò Guzzo born in Pianopoli, son of the late Costantino e Mariastella Ceneviva, emigrated to Montreal Canada in 1950's. Both enjoying together the visit.

Thomas Madia Schenectady, New York


Thomas Madia 81 of Woodlawn, Schenectady passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 03, 2008.
Born in Pianopoli, Italy, 7 October 1927, Emigrated to Schenectady, NY.
He was the son of the late Francesco and Concetta Pugliese Madia. He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady where he also served as an usher. He was employed by General Electric Co. for over 40 years until his retirement and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was also a long-time member of the Elks Club.Thomas will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and dear friend to many. Thomas is survived by his wife, Madeline (Marinaccio) Madia; his children, Anthony Madia of Rotterdam, Marlene (Don) Scott of Mayfield, Linda (Henry) Woodward of Centennial, CO and Frank Madia of Amsterdam; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St. Schenectady followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pianopoli - Utica N.Y Pelli's



Standing left are three brothes; Vincenzo Pelli b.1900-1995, Alfonso Pelli, Alberto Pelli - seated left MariaRosa 1878-1955, Giuseppina - they came to USA 1925
Vincenzo went to Brazil, then in early 60's returned to Pianopli when he died in 1995.
Giuseppina (Josephine married Vincent Esposito; son's doughter are Thomas born in Pianopoli June 24, 1914 - , Vincenzo and Antonietta ' they all immigrated to Utica N.Y.1925.
Thomas Esposito 1941 married Jean Ciancalini in Utica having two sons Thomas Jr. and Richard
He was a Veteran of WW II having served with the U.S. Air Force from 1943-1945.
He died 8 August 1985 in Utica, NY
