LOCAL YOUTH PRESENTS BUST TO KENEDY

Joseph A. Faga, 243 S. Main St., has presented Robert F. Kennedy a bust he made of the attorney general.
The presentation was made Monday at the New York City apartment of Stephen Smith, a brother-in-law of Kennedy.
Congressman alexander Pirnie, who had made arrangements, flew to New York for the presentation and introduction of Faga.
Faga, who has a talent for sculpure, last September presented a bust of President John F. Kennedy to a White House aide. At the time he was a Herkimer High School senior, a teenage immigrant from Italy who had become a citizen only four months previously.
The presentation of the second bust, of the attorney general, was made shortly before Kennedy spoke to the American Bar Assn. in New York. Pirnie said the attorney general was "very gracious," repeating the acceptance for photographers who were late.

Maria Chirico together with Pope

CHIRICO, Maria Maria Chirico, 71, of Pianopoli, CZ, Italy, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, (July 17, 2007). She is reunited with her parents Angelo and Teresa (Stella) Chirico in Heaven. Maria is survived by her brothers Marco and wife Silvia Chirico of Windsor Locks, Maurice and Natalie Chirico of Manchester, Francesco and wife Therese Chirico of East Hartford, and Vincenzo Chirico and Maryann Kweder of Wethersfield; as well as eight nieces and nephews. Maria had a zest for life and did not let her disability prevent her from traveling widely, enjoying trips to Lourdes, Rome, Paris, and the United States to visit her family. She had a special fondness for various casinos around the world. Maria will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family wishes to deeply thank our extended family in Pianopoli whose care and generosity sustained her, particularly Mario Toriano, one of her closest friends. A memorial mass will be held 8:30a.m. on July 28, at St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford.
